From This To This

After came back from a meeting I went straight home. I have this crazy idea in my mind and I decided to shoot some perfume and try to create something out of it.

So I took a photos of these perfume and do some tweak in Photoshop.. the result is as below. Each of the advertisement campaign took less then 10 minutes to be completed.

A raw shot of the perfume... no image editing...


White gradient background and one omni directional light positioned at 3/4 angle. The reflection of the bottle is not artificial but it is from the mirror at the base..

what can i get with 700 bucks

Being able to sell some of my photos is not bad after all. I am not a pro photographer nor I am a full timer... but sometimes hobby can turn into an extra income.

As I received my pay today from the couple who bought my photography artwork, I thought off fulfilling some of my wish list.

At first I want to buy a new bag but then I had a second thought. If I can spread that 700 bucks and buy few items that would actually much better. So I went for a bargain hunting with Riken.

First bought myself a new swiss made watch from CK. Believe me it doesn't cost that much... 50% reduction and won't get that price anymore next time. Then I bought 3 designers shades (sunglasses) ranging frm 50, 80 and 90% off. Then the temptation continued... Walaupun tak tau main ski tetap jugak beli goggle.. reason.. can't get this price anymore next time..mana tau tergerak hati nak main ski before the season end.

Then I saw a new version of Asus EEE PC 900. I have been eying on this model quite sometimes and it is one of my wish list. So terbeli lah jugak...... the different with my previous EEE PC? Bigger screen ( 9 inch), bigger RAM, Bluetooth and bigger hard disk and longer battery life.

Since I ran out of storage space, I bought a new compact hard disk to store all my photos so I can use the other one for all my studies related stuff...

So it left me with few more wish list.... hmmmm maybe I need to sell more artwork.. I have a second request from this couple.. They love my cherry tomatoes splash and want me to print it out...

So my point is if we compare dollar to dollar.. do you think you can buy all these stuff with MYR700.00? Even if I convert it... I still cannot buy all these...

This was not the one I want.. but for the time being its ok.. still Swiss made though


Things need to consider when buying goggle.. the lens color.. this one is Citrus and it mean this goggle can be use on a sunny day, drizzle and snowy and cloudy... ski here we come!


Designer's shade ranging from 50, 80 and 90% and I got a real bargain. The lowest price was 10 bucks.... si Riken pun terbeli 2 pasang.... I told him before duit boleh dicari.. but chances and opportunity come only once...


EEE PC 900... bigger screen, better processor, bigger RAM and bigger hard disk space for my mobile computing...


Extra storage for my journals and thesis...so I can use the other one for my photos.. or the othr way round

Pre-Launch of Nikon D700

Went to the special invitation on the pre-launch of Nikon D700 last night. The pre-launch is a collaboration between Camera House and Nikon Australia.

Met few photographers. Most of the guest was a Nikonian except few of us from Olympus. It started with an introduction from Nikon Australia representative followed by a 30 minutes session of Nikon D700 from the technical point of view and also from a photographer point of view. This is the a full frame sensor DSLR and it looks promising. Since the full frame sensor manufacturing cost getting cheaper the full frame camera become more affordable. This Nikon D700 sell for 3570AUD body only and it cost 4500AUD with a standard zoom lens.

By next year the price predicted to drop significantly. Yes from the test the output was so good with no noise at ISO6400! Amazing..

But as an amateur, I am more then happy with my small Oly..

Solid built and very impressive!


Always give you fiar advice on camera... very techie guys.. he own most of the camera.. just name it..

Test drive... probably need to wait for the next update with live view and on screen autofocus...

It Doesn't Look Like Winter

The weather just perfect today and it doesn't look like winter. Done with my study I headed to the city. The main intention was to witness the pre launch Nikon D700 full frame DSLR camera. Kevin invited me to join the rest at 7.30pm.

Since I am not in a hurry I decided to walk to the city from the library. My SV was on leave till next week and I already done the task. Before reach the city I thought that I should use different route and I chose to use the Royal Botanical Garden to go to the other side.

Along the way I found few interesting flowers and I manage to shoot some of it. I never been to this part of the garden.. this is a huge garden and one need to spend days to finish it..

Treat From Friend

Riken received his tax return and he gave me a treat today. So he said I can have anything I want! Hmmmm.... what I want? Ok I think I know know what I want....people said food is better then sex right? So here we go....

We end up at Sydney Road for a wonderful time. Thank you Riken....

First stop! X-Club... ahh no lah.. we just passed by.. you cannot avoid it.. its everywhere occay

Main course.. wallah.. terus for dinner


Next stop? Telstar shop.. checking the iPhone 3G... this is my next wish list.. or maybe need to wait for the next model with video call capability

Weekend Experimentation

For the past week I decided to experiment with some technique in photography. The water splash is one of it. With a minimal tools available: Olympus E510DSLR and 35mm Zuiko Lens (macro), Ceramic bowl, glass, milk, water, strawberry, cherry and cherry tomatoes.

Both of us are so excited on the outcome and we shared the output. Without a proper tools and props both of us managed to deliver a decent results...

So what is our next assignment aye? What about perfume bottle shooting? That's kind of challenging.. or even watches.... maybe we should go for some sort of advertising kind of shooting aye?

This is the first result... and I am satisfied with this.. the rest of the experiment went so and so

Quietly At Gambarandewa

I have been selling some photographic artwork to close friends and their associates quietly. Most of the photographic artwork that I sold were in a form of high resolution digital format and some of them even go further by asking me to print it on a canvas. So far the biggest canvas size that I provide is A2.

The rest is a small series of 3x1 square feet and also panorama sizes. Today I sold another series from my collection. The size for this is A2 each and hang side by side. This is a canvas print techniques.. I sold this to a local couple who I met last week in my Photography Class at Micheal Camera House.

Spring Cleaning

With a eye bags I went out for lunch at Nando's. Haven't got enough sleep last night when one of the tenant knocked my door at 4.30am in the morning complaining that the tenant at 212 still having a party.

Since I am too tired to handle and they didn't listen then I called the police at around 4.40am. To my surprise the police only came at 8.00am...

Few damages on the wall and I have made a police report and hopefully this tenant will be charge... Since it has been a week my bedroom look a mass I decided to do some spring cleaning..... Ohhh God I am so sleepy.... can't wait this tenant removal next Tuesday.. in a meantime the rest of the tenant has to bear with all the noise and security issue.. hopefully things will be back to normal and everyone has a peaceful life...

Spent the rest of the day doing the spring cleaning... first my bedroom.. dah semak dah seminggu terbiar... so I rearrange my wardrobe and my study table. Hang all the jacket on the right side because I have so many jacket now. I only hang shirt and trousers that I use most.. the rest I lipat and keep it in a drawer below. And I keep all my bags on the top shelve. So far I have collected almost 20 bags from various brand.... seems that I am crazy about Swiss watches again... matilaaa

Heart burn

Half of the day at the RMIT library... since that particular book was not at my uni library so I decided to search at RMIT library.... had my lunch at Nelayan. My mistake today was I had a coffee straight after my meal and I had my dinner late. So I have this severe heartburn. I knew its not going to be an easy night for me so I bought De-Gas at local pharmacy.. now what I should do is sit down and take a rest.. hopefully the heartburn will go by the time I fall a sleep.

Mistake that I shouldn't repeat again.. no coffee after meals..


De-Gas.. hopefully it works.. usually it didn't...


Don't know where to go actually.. so I went to Crown... don't want to be caught in a packed train..
