Mak Kaya! Mak Kaya!

At first I am kind of reluctant to try my luck... terlalu ramai orang kat stream.. then while waiting for Zainah and family to finish with their oldies photo session I try my luck. Went to the stream and joined with ramai orang.. picked the shovel and the dulang. I started to goyang-goyang macam I nampak di tv......

Couldn't believe myself... my first trial gave me luck... I found a tiny gold then I become addicted and continued... in less then 30 minutes I found few small gold particles... Imagine if I spend the whole day digging... hee hee makkk kayaaaaaa.....

mendulang
Pengalaman yang tak dapat dilupa.. mendulang emas..eh napa aku rasa aku gemuk ek dalam gambar nih.. macam tembam jer betis aku.. :P eh betis bunting padi memang cam tuh kan kan kan?

mendulang
Can you see the sparkling small particles? Walaupun cuaca panas and kulit dah burn tapi tetap gigih nak cari emas gakk.. mana leh masuk mahal-mahal tapi tak jumpa emas kann....

gold
Hee hee ni lah hasil yang I dapat.... walaupun tak leh nak buat sebentuk cincin but it is an experience!

Sovereign Hill Where I Found Some Gold

Going back to the early 1800 era is something that cannot be missed by anyone when visiting Victoria. Drive to west by Western Freeway leads us to a place call Ballarat. It is the largest inland city in Victoria. This place is well known for it Gold Rush history. More of the reading can be found here.

We arrived at 10am and visitors already queuing up to buy a ticket. We spent nearly 6 hours there.

I think Malaysia should learn from this... especially Melaka. Preserving what the history look like back then... Only then, all the people can feel the real environment and they learn what the history all about

Personally I think to learn history more effectively.. this is what we should do...preserve, preserve and preserve

Long Holiday Escapade: Journey to Gold Rush

Sempena cuti yang agak panjang, I decided to go to Ballarat with Nahar and Zainah's family. We took off from Melbourne at around 8.00am and headed straight by Western Freeway to Ballarat. On the way we stopped at Kryal Castle. This is 50 years old castle. (rasanya la)... We didn't stop long as our main journey is Sovereign Hill in Ballarat.

Boxing Day Sales at DFO Essendon, Smith Street, Bridge Road and Harbour Town

Boxing Day is one of the best sales ever every year. This year sales sees that the economic downturn doesn't really stop the Australian to spend. As early as 3am people already lined up in front of Mayers and David Jones just to be the first in the race of shopping spree. Mayers and David Jones open it store as early as 5am.

Nahar, Zainah and family and me thought that DFO Essendon is the best place to go. When we arrived there, the car park was almost full. Nahar was on his shopping spree and Zainah too. Both of them bought few pairs of cloth and music keyboard. Nahar bought a new wide angle flat TV for 99 dollars. It was cheap indeed. Zainah's hubby bough himself a new GPS from Garmin. This is the one that works back home. And not to forget a new MP3 player for their daughter. As for myself I only bought a pair of T-shirt from GANT since there was no size at Polo Ralph Lauren outlet.

Then we headed to Smith Street. Our shopping spree continued. I only bought a pair of Adidas shoes and short from New Balance. Nahar bought 3 pairs of shoes and Zainah bought a few too They really spend the money to the max!

This morning I went to Bridge Road by myself since Nahar only available in the afternoon. I bought a new overnight bag which I am going to use it for my next short holiday. Stop at Esprit Outlet and I grabbed one shirt. Met Nahar at DFO Spencer St and we did a bit of shopping. Then we headed to Harbour Town and get ourselves few undergarment and a beach towel. Went to check Noritake's price and called Shekh to compare the price with the one that he bought in Sydney. Might grab a set for my mom....

There was so many people at the beach some just lying on the sun, others went for a swim and even some of them brought their metal detector machine.... not sure what they re looking for but surely they must be up to something.
