Oromos The Oromia People

Victoria is such a diverse state in Australia in terms of people and culture. Each year cultural festival took place representing different ethnic group from different countries. This year alone Melbourne witnessed more than 6 cultural show been presented in a various kind of festivities.

The latest is a cultural festival from Oromia people. Oromia is a land for Oromos people and the largest single nation in Africa enjoying homogeneous culture, speaking common language and having a common history and descent. The country of Oromos is called Biyya-Oromo or Oromia and it is part of the Ethiopian Empire. The land of Oromos is bordered in the East by Somali and Afar lands and Djibouti, in the West by Sudan, in the South by Somalia, Kenya and others.

The language of Oromo nation is Oromiffa and written in Latin characters. The religion of the people is Islam and Christian and before the introduction of this religion they praised their own.

Are these people muslims? Where are they originated from/ Looks like North Arfican decendent.

Mohamad: SOme of them are muslim and some christian... basically they are Ethiopian
